A perceived challenge that isn't

From the friendly caves of Pixie Hollow.

If you've dwelt online for any length of time, you'll understand that the internet is American-centric.

The language is American.

The culture is American.

It's like TV on speed... and then on crack.

The problem with being in Australia - affectionately, "at the ar53-end of the world" - is that if you have a biz online (especially a digital biz) you end up with subscribers who are all over the shop. They're not just local. They're in the US. They're in the EU.

They are everywhere.

Should you then structure all your materials to fit?

This touches on the deep issue of localization, which is a content strategy, a content operations, and a content writing issue.

I'll tell you something interesting about this particular list:

Loads of the subscribers are in the USA or Canada. They're in an opposite timezone.

Should I then send emails at times that they're at work? Or up? Or just online?

Should I perhaps just ignore where they are and send emails when the sun is shining, the lorikeets are singing ecstatically in the bottle-brush, and the warm breeze from the north feels like springtime?

Obviously, the answer is whether or not open rates matter to you.

But if I take my own behaviour, I get emails from Americans at all hours of the day and night and the ones I read, I read.

So why do Aussies flip out about sending them when their entire list is awake?

Ridiculous, huh.

If people want to read what you send, they'll read it no matter when it arrives.

So if you've got the courage to ignore the open rates, and just do your thing, you'll not only eliminate a lot of stress, but you'll still be talking to the people who want your stuff.

Which is why I'm offering you three months' worth of daily emails ghostwritten on your behalf, for just $2900 AUD. You probably think your list won't stand it. But then again, you probably haven't tried.

Right?

The deal is available until 12.01 am next Wednesday.

To get it, reply to this email.
